The motive of the meeting of Joachim and Anna have been appearing in Christian art since the 10th century, but his written sources are much older. James' Proto-Gospel dates from the 2nd century and the liturgy for the feast written by Saint Andrew of Crete (4th July) dates back to the 8th century. The feast officially enters the liturgical calendar only in 1166 on the basis of the imperial decree as a six-year (small) feast. The icons of Nevyansk originated in the Urals, in small old-ceremonial workshops from 1734 to 1919, and secretly until the fifties of the 20th century.

Feast: August 15th Prayer tradition: Daily prayer in front of the icon The Passing of the Most Holy Mother of God strengthens faith and diminishes the fear of physical death. Before the icon, believers ask for forgiveness of their sins so that they may be worthy to enter into the kingdom of the Lord. Regular prayers help not only heal the soul, but also the body from various diseases. Prayers in front of the icon also help prepare for the confession.
