The Icon of Christ Emanuel

This iconographic type is a symbol of the ancestral Word of God (Greek Logos) that became the body. He is most often depicted by the shoulders, either alone or in the presence of the Blessed Virgin, Saint John the Baptist, or angels. As with all icons of Christ, this type of Savior - Emanuel does not lack the typical cross in the aureole.
